Privacy Policy

Substitution is a basketball coaching app operated by Bayardelle & Co. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app and this website handle, and why. The short version: your rosters and games never leave your device, and we don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. The only information that leaves your device relates to the optional Substitution Pro subscription.
What we collect and why

The app user ID is random and is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple ID. Apple processes all payments. We never receive your payment details or your Apple ID. Apple may provide us with aggregated sales and usage reports under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Game reports you share through the iOS share sheet go only where you choose to send them. They may include the player names you entered.
What we don't do
We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. We don't track you across other apps or websites. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising. We don't collect location, contacts, photos, or health data, and the app has no accounts or sign-in.
Legal bases (EU and UK users)
We process subscription information to perform our contract with you (providing Substitution Pro), for our legitimate interests in preventing fraud, supporting users, and understanding subscription totals, and to meet legal obligations such as tax and accounting records. We process support emails for our legitimate interest in answering you.
Who receives information
RevenueCat, Inc. (subscription management), Apple (payments, as described in Apple's policy), and GitHub (website hosting). We may also disclose information if required by law, or to a successor if Substitution is sold or transferred. We require service providers to use information only to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
Game data is never stored by us. Subscription records are kept while your subscription is relevant and afterward only as long as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, or legal requirements. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your request and any follow-up, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. We honor these requests for all users regardless of location.
To make a request, email info@substitution.app. Because we don't know who you are, include your support ID: in the app, tap Copy support ID at the bottom of the setup screen. We will respond within one month. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
You can cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
U.S. state privacy rights
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising or profiling. Residents of states with privacy laws may use the request process above.
Children
Substitution is intended for coaches and other adults who run games. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Player names entered by a coach stay on the coach's device. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
RevenueCat and GitHub process information in the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
Subscription information is sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the information we handle to the minimum the app needs.
Changes
If we change what the app collects, for example by adding optional cloud sync or accounts, we will update this page first and change the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
